  31. forgot to consider that NewTek's own Tim Jennison has on more than one 
  32. occasion committed to support the Amiga, not only with updates but with 
  33. NEW products. You forgot that LW was re-written to be easy to port and 
  34. maintain on several different platforms. You forgot that Stuart Furgeson

  57. There seems to have been a lot of unnecessary panic about this lately,
  58. so let me put your minds at ease.  The 4.0 LightWave for the Amiga will
  59. be released at the same time as 4.0 for PC and 4.0 for SGI.  The way
  60. we're porting the code will make all the ports complete at virtually
  61. the same time, barring any system-specific issues that come up in testing.

  63. My primary development system is the Amiga.  All the various other
  64. systems that hang off my office ethernet are slaved to the master sources
  65. on the Amiga.  As for the future, who can say?  A lot of things can
  66. happen before we do a 5.0.  Amigas could go back into production and
  67. become viable, competitive platforms, or the business could go under
  68. completely.  In any case, we have no intention of abandoning our
  69. existing customer base.  The cross platform technology we're developing
  70. now will make it easier in the future to support Amiga along with any
  71. other platform we develop for.

  73. As for me, the only way anyone will get me to give up my Amiga will be
  74. to pry it out of my cold, dead hands.

  83. The Amiga IS back. You forgot that ESCOM has committed to R&D for Amiga
  84. hardware and that that includes 060's by fall and RISC to follow. You
  85. forgot that as long as NewTek makes money from sales of Amiga
  86. hardware/software, they will likely continue. NewTek isn't a new kid
  87. looking to start up Amiga development, they have been at it for years.

  89. Many will choose the PC and MicroSoft's OS for their platform of choice. 
  90. Many will choose the SGI, Alpha, and Amiga...
  91.  
  92. Yeah, there will be a lot of plug-ins for the PC, but if it follows the
  93. tradition of typical PC software, the ones that will be on the Amiga will
  94. be among the better available.

  96. They already removed glow and made it a plug-in. Get out your checkbook...
